Emily Von Euw is the creator of the wildly popular blog This Rawsome Vegan Life. (www.ThisRawsomeVeganLife.com)

Hailing from Vancouver BC Canada, Emily or Em found veganism before going raw.

Her philosophy is living naturally and sustainably.

Em shares her raw, vegan, and gluten-free recipes like Peppermint Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes and Raw Pumpkin Pie on her website www.ThisRawsomeVeganLife.com and her Facebook page (of the same name) which has over 35,000 likes.

Her blog won the Vegan Woman's 2013 Vegan Food Blog Award and was a Top 50 Raw Blogs of 2012. Her photography is stunning and whether you are vegetarian, vegan, raw 60% of the time or even a meat-lover, your taste buds will tingle for some of this rawsome goodness!

Why did you become vegan?

Because it is the most logical choice - and the best for my body, the planet, and our animal buddies! I became vegan four years ago. I was 16.

What inspires your recipes?

My dreams! Often I'll get recipe ideas when I am falling asleep. Otherwise, when I see some sinfully delicious or popular but very non-vegan recipe, I am inspired to make it raw and vegan.

My readers give me a lot of ideas too.

When did you decide to put a recipe book together?

Everyone was saying I should write a book soon. I started to get excited about the idea, but it was still a very far-off goal.

Then it fell into my lap!

I was contacted by my publisher and after a series of phone calls and emails, a deal was made and I began working hard on it all summer. It was a raw dessert frenzy and by the end of three months, I had written a cookbook!

What three words best describe you?

Hmm. For now - rational, self-loving, and critical.

What are three things people are most surprised about you?

That I love rap music! And that I am very vocal and open about sexuality.

(Em is currently a student at Simon Fraser University studying history of religion and sexuality.)
