aN INTERVIEW wITH AMR sITTIN

mr Sittin is a singer who released his album in September 2012. He was interviewed about the issue of illegal downloads since he was a victim of this.

At the start of the interview he gave a brief background about himself and how he always wanted to become a singer since he was at the age of 10. Sittin never gave up and would start his career since then. He was a lead singer in the choir of his school, Misr International School, and Sittin was always the one who would sing during the break time and everyone would sit around him and just listen. After he was done with school and joined MSA university he was caught up with all the work and singing was not his priority anymore. Sittin finally graduated from university and decided it was time to start working on his first album. "It was not hard" he said, "it required high commitment but I was up for it."

Moving onto the main discussion of the interview, that matter of illegal downloading was brought up. Siitin said that illegal downloads was one of the greatest issues he had after releasing his album. Sittin argued that people who illegally download music should face the same consequences as people who steal "because it's the exact same issue.

"350,000 albums were illegally downloaded from only one website. Can you imagine the amount of losses we as singers have to face? Just imagine if people paid 1 LE for the album, that would cover great costs," said Sittin. He also mentioned that not all his costs were covered and this was the main reason for it.

"I definteley support your campaign and I wish you the greatest of luck. Hopefully the campaign will reach out to the offenders and will persuade them to stop doing it" said Sittin to end the interview.

It is a great offense to illegally download music and it is something that must be stopped.
