Over the past two decades, Reginelli’s has upsized both its menu and its scope of business operations while feeding the hungry denizens of the Crescent City. Starting out in 1996 with a single restaurant located at the intersec- tion of Magazine and State streets, Reginelli’s was a product of the part- nership between Darryl Reginelli, of New Orleans, and Bruce Erhardt, a native of Alabama. “Darryl had a very deep background in upscale restaurant management,” explained Kathleen Hansel, Reginelli’s Pizze- ria’s marketing manager. “And Bruce was his trusted employee turned partner. Their goal was to create a more casual dining experience for their patrons; a place where everyone could come with their friends and family, enjoy classic Italian pizza with a New Orleans twist, be com- fortable, and relax.” Hansel credited quality, excel- lent customer service, and an ever- expanding bill of fare for Reginelli’s continued growth and success. “We were the first in the city to offer hand-tossed pies with specialty top- pings. And we are constantly on the lookout to add new customer favor- ites to our menu, like our focaccia bread sandwiches; all our bread is made in house every day.” Hansel also added a recommendation: “Try the Eggplant Reginelli, it’s a whole roasted eggplant with olive oil, fresh garlic and fontina, topped with a soft herbed goat cheese butter. You won’t regret it.” Explaining how all this has af- fected Reginelli’s presence in the region, Hansel said, “We now have ten locations, eight in the greater New Orleans area, one in Baton Rouge, and one in Houston. Two of our locations are franchises, and we are always looking to reach a great- er number of people in the area.” This includes Reginelli’s addition of catering services for private parties and functions to their repertoire.
