Free for AICC members and students with a valid university or high school ID; for non-members, the suggested donation is $10. 37th Annual West Bank Italian Open Golf Tournament Sunday, April 8 Timberlane Country Club in Gretna The event begins with an Italian style brunch, followed by a noon Shotgun Start. Several of the holes throughout the 18 hole course, also feature foods, snacks and beverage from local restaurants, for the players to enjoy. The Paretti Family is sponsoring “A Hole In One Wins A 2018 Range Rover Velar” which is certain to make the event interesting. At the end of the day, the tournament culminates with the Award Ceremony and door prize drawings. The AICC hosts 8-week classes in downtown New Orleans and in Metairie. The classes meet once a week for 1 1/2 hours. All classes are taught by a native Italian and have a friendly, motivating environment. The AICC offers four different class levels: novice, intermediate, ad- vanced/superior, and a traveler’s course specifi- cally for those going to Italy. Early-bird pricing available until March 17. Italian Movie Night: Ustica, Gli Anni Del Diamante Thursday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. American Italian Cultural Center Join the AICC and the Congregazione di San Bartolomeo Apostolo for the 2017 documentary Ustica, Gli Anni Del Diamante (Ustica, the Dia- mond Years). From 1971-2005, Ustica, a small island in the Mediterranean Sea just north of Palermo, captured the world’s attention for its success in both baseball and softball. The Ustica Baseball Club and the Ustica Softball Club both had tremendous success playing locally, nation- ally, and internationally—in fact, the team even played in New Orleans! The movie will be shown in Italian with English subtitles. The movie is free for AICC Members and stu- dents with a valid university or high school ID; for non-members, the suggested donation is $5. Italian Heritage Festival April 20 -22 400 block of Williams Blvd in Kenner The Italian Heritage Festival is a fun-filled, fam- ily event that offers live music, food, rides, games and crafts. The festival is $5 for adults. Children 12 and under get in free as long as they’re accompanied by an adult. Free admis- sion to all law enforce- ment officers and their families.
