it starts with Him: a 30 day prayer guide to end human trafficking vol 1 | Page 14

DAY 14 DAY 16 "No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." —Joshua 1:5 "'What do you want me to do for you?' Jesus asked him." Wow! What a charge for Joshua as he leads in the shadow of Moses. When I was a child, I suffered with continual nightmares which continued into my adulthood. It is how the enemy would defeat me regularly. As a child, God said to me, “I will NEVER leave you or forsake you!” As I woke from these nightmares I would repeat this over and over. As I There have been many times in my life when I have reached a point where I was desperately in need of help. I needed help with my finances, life decisions, relationships, or just the challenges in life that were too difficult for me to face on my own. approached adulthood I learned about Joshua and how God called him to be Strong and Courageous for…“I will NEVER leave you or forsake you”. When I think of the children trapped in human trafficking I want to scream these words—BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS FOR HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU. Lord— Echo in the ears of these children Your heart that will never leave them or forsake them. Give them Your strength and courage. Strengthen me to carry Your heart to these children and fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Amen. DAY 15 “Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s.” —2 Chronicles 20:15 “Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.” —James 5:13 When I look around and see so much evil in the world, I get overwhelmed. I wonder what I can do to change things. Can I make a difference in this world? Yes, I can! By lifting up prayers and praises to God. God Father God— has promised to never leave us and God keeps His promises. Just like King Jehoshaphat in the Bible had three enemy armies coming to do battle against his kingdom in 2 Chronicles 20, there are many forms of evil coming against us. King Jehoshaphat praised God and gave thanks. God went before Judah and fought the battle for them and destroyed these armies. When we are facing hardships and evil, what should we do? Pray and praise God. We can make a difference in our world by bringing everything to God. Thank Him for going before us and fighting our battles. When we are afraid and facing hardship and evil, help us to look to You for victory. Help us to praise You in the bad and the good times. Thank You that You fight our battles for us, that we are never alone. Amen. Bartimaeus was a blind beggar who cried for help when he heard Jesus walking by. There is no evidence that he ever met Jesus or interacted with him. But Bartimaeus believed something about Jesus. He believed Jesus would stop and listen and heal! Jesus changed Bartimaeus' life by restoring his sight. Even with the smallest amount of faith, God can work the most amazing miracles. When I cried out to God in my pain and sadness of a life that was bringing me into great darkness, God heard my cry for mercy and carried me into the light of freedom. Lord Jesus— Give us the courage to come to You when we are blinded by the darkness in life. Help us, Lord, to believe that it is You, alone, that can give us sight to see the light of hope. Heal our hearts and open our eyes to see the hope and healing that comes from a life that is fully dependent on You alone. May we walk with You in freedom all the days of our life. Amen.
