EDITORS LETTER

Style can be ageless is undisputed , as is the fact , I suggest , that style has little to do with the fluctuations of fashion and more to do with a consistency of approach , whatever that approach might be . However , when we talk of style with regard to appearance , a constant recalibrating is necessary in order not to look like a person frozen in time . Small changes such as a heel shape , the way a collar is worn , the length of jacket and the crop of the trouser make a real difference . Who would haveknown two years ago that low mules and backless loafers would look fashionable now ? Or that a satin bomber jacket - once thought of as consigned to the memory box of Seventies rock style - would seem modern this summer ? Or that the way you tuck your shirt in to your waistband can put a new spin on a wardrobe basic . So our feature “ All in the Details ” offers a tip-sheet of not purely what to buy but how to put it all together , no matter what your date of birth .
