“ The good news is a fresh school of salmon moved into the Golden Gate , last week . Party boats went from 1 / 2 - 1 fish per rod , to limits of large salmon to 38 pounds ,” noted Boggs . “ Those fish are headed this way . It ’ s worth going out , just take some patience s with you . The weather is going to cool and so will the water temperatures . Silvertrons and Flying Cs are your best bets .”

The four anglers fishing with Jerry Lampkin caught two kings weighing 7 and 12 pounds on Monday October 5 , reported Craig Newton of Willfish Bait and Tackle , who landed the 12 pounder . “ They caught the fish while trolling with Silverton spinners from Miller Park to Sherwood Marina . “ We saw two other fish caught that day ,” said Newton .

The grass is thick , but fishermen are casting along the edges of the grass .

Fishing Pressure Is Very Light

EL SOBRANTE – Fishing pressure has been “ extremely low ” at San Pablo Reservoir over the past couple of weeks , due to poor air quality from wildfires burning in Napa County , reported Marcella Shoemaker at the Rocky Mountain Recreation Company .

Before the slowdown in fishing pressure , anglers were catching channel catfish and rainbow trout at the popular East Bay reservoir .

Since the recreation area reopened on June 15 , 2020 , the lake has received 2,600 lbs . of Mt Lassen Lightning Trout , 8,500 lbs . of Mt Lassen Rainbow Trout , 2,500 lbs . of DFW Trout and 10,800 lbs . of Tsai Enterprises Catfish .

Big fish honors go to Ryan Lee of Belmont , who caught a catfish weighing 9.7 lbs . while using cheese PowerBait .
