3 successful . I have to say I ' m blessed that the changes that occurred in my life both on and off Guam , it resulted in my children becoming strong , successful adults with their own families .
IV : How did you choose your career or current path ?
OC : Well , when I first moved to Las Vegas in 2003 , I had 3 part time jobs . Convention set up type of work , Ethel M ( chocolate ) retail at McCarran Int ' l and Ramp Agent with Swissport . Ramp Agent was hella exciting to me . It was physical work , but the experience was awesome . Ethel M ( Mars candy family ), best part of that job , meeting all the customers at the airport shop and sharing the company history with them . Oh , and the chocolate of course . Convention work was like a party organizer or props and decoration . Tiring work . I decided I needed one day job and to go back to college .
After a couple home builder , administrative jobs , the housing market crashed and I was unemployed for 3 mos . A temp agency hooked me up with a Clark County temp job in March of 2008 . By May of 2012 , I finally became permanent on Clark County , NV payroll . I ’ m vested in retirement after 5 years . I bought a town home a little over a year ago and enjoy homeownership . It has its moments of stress though .
IV : Who were your influencers ( role models ) growing up ?
OC : I have too many role models to list !!! But , I would have to say the main ones were my Teachers . From Elementary through High School . They were the driving force in pushing me to get college and University Degrees . I have an Associates from GCC in Travel Management , Bachelors in Business Management and a double Masters ( Human Resources and Education-Curriculum and Development , all from American Intercontinental University . The Higher Degrees were through online classes while I worked full time . Each course program was compacted into no more than 15 months vs traditional college of 4 years .
IV : Your AHA moment ?
OC : My AHA moment … gosh , honestly , I ’ m still waiting for it . It could be the 3 moments of each of my 3 children . They are successful and have families of their own . I am as proud as could be as a mom and now a grandma .
IV : That one goal you are still working on ?
OC : This will have a funny response ! I ’ m hoping to one day win the California Lottery . Yes , we drive to
