Chinese art has, of course, been the strongest performer. The economic developments in China and the new wealth that we now see in that country has created a group of collectors with Chinese carved hardwood enough expendable income chair that sold for £2,000 to develop important prominent collections relative to China and its people. At HRD Auction Rooms we have seen Chinese paintings, jade, furniture and porcelains shoot up in value recently. We expect the trend to continue for quality items with good provenance and unquestionable authenticity.
