“With the Oriental
buying market
showing no signs of
retreat, and already
Pair of Oriental vases that were
this year we have
sold for £750
had some stunning
results, I felt having a
specialist section in our Fine Art Sale in November might
prove popular”.
We welcome entries into this sale, which will include
ceramics, bronzes, ivory, pictures and furniture.

Sales in Oriental objects
have been extremely
strong over the past few
years, with the force of the
Chinese market driving
the prices high in both
established and emerging
areas of collecting. Chinese
art has, of course, been the
strongest performer. The
economic developments
in China and the new
wealth that we now see in
that country has created
a group of collectors with
Chinese carved hardwood
enough expendable income
chair that sold for £2,000
to develop important
prominent collections
relative to China and its people.
At HRD Auction Rooms we have seen Chinese
paintings, jade, furniture and porcelains shoot up in value
recently. We expect the trend to continue for quality items
with good provenance and unquestionable authenticity.
