Teeing off
for charity
Days out
The sun shone on the greens of Freshwater Bay
Golf Course and made it a brilliant day for the
fourth annual Charity Golf Day hosted by Medina
Food Service.
Sixty guests enjoyed the golf, along with an auction and raffle,
which together raised over £2,000 for three charities: Naomi
House, Ability Dogs 4 Young People, and St. Mary’s Hospital
Children’s Ward.
At the auction, passes for a Silverstone Track Day were highly
sought after, as was a ‘tasting menu’ table for two at Thompson’s.
Other popular lots were front row seats for Jimmy Carr’s show at
Shanklin Theatre, tickets for Glorious Goodwood and, in the raffle,
a weekend of golf at Celtic Manor in Wales.
The one thing everyone was after, however, was the Charity
Shield – and this year’s winners were Max Palmer from Legends
on the Sea, and Tash Boswell from The Garlic Farm.
In the four years since its launch, Medina’s Charity Golf Day has
raised a total of almost £10,000 for local charities.
