Laings Plays Host to
Fabulous Social Event at the
Rolex Fastnet Race
As the world’s elite sailors took part in
the 47th Fastnet race in August, local
jeweller’s Laings Hampshire invited
guests to an exclusive viewing of the race
at the Royal Ocean Racing Club, Cowes.
300 guests were treated to a delicious brunch
buffet with fantastic views over the water as they
watched a live streaming of the enthralling race.
Brave teams battled it out to beat times from
previous years as they sailed from Cowes over to
the Fastnet Rock off the southwest coast of Ireland
before finishing in Portsmouth.
This is the first time that Laings Hampshire,
previously Parkhouse, hosted an event with Rolex
on the Isle of Wight. As well as the racing, guests
were among the first in the world to see in the flesh
the luxury watch brand’s latest timepieces from
Baselworld.
Throughout the sun filled day live music from
the Nick Cane band kept guests entertained, who
included Paul Young and David Culter from Rolex,
and Karla Ducker, General Manager at Laings
Hampshire.
