Education New Sixth Form pioneers for Ryde School Two years ago Ryde School became the first Independent School in the UK to introduce the IBCP (International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme) alongside A Levels and the IBDP (IB Diploma Programme). The IBCP offers academic qualifications with the vocational and life skills that other post 16 qualifications don’t generally deliver. The first pioneers go on to university, art college, apprenticeships and straight into work. Across the Sixth Form we saw A Level results of over a third graded at A* or A and more than a quarter of pupils gaining at least two A grades; the IB results points average was 34.8 points (Ryde School’s highest score was 43 points; the world average was 29.95 points). This year, ten students chose Engineering and Design for their course choice for university, other pupils went on to medical schools, Oxbridge, other universities and arts and music colleges. The Sixth Form at Ryde is an exciting place to be, please join us for the Sixth Form Open House on Thursday 30 November from 7pm to find out more about the Sixth Form. Academic scholarships and Sport, Sailing, Music Scholarships are available for entry into the Sixth Form. Please contact Mrs Becky Craik on 01983 617970 or [email protected] for more information.
