New Science Facilities for Ryde School
2016 has been another year of investment and expansion across Ryde School . A state-of-the-art refurbishment of two Physics labs and the Computer Science area took place over the summer , adding to the two newly refurbished Chemistry labs with the updating of the two Biology labs planned for summer 2017 .
Alongside the changes to Science facilities , the English block in the Senior School has been completely redesigned to incorporate a dedicated Fiction Library and quiet areas for reading with collaborative spaces for creative writing and debating , including a new seminar room . The new International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme , introduced to the Sixth Form study programme last year to complement the existing A Levels and IB Diploma has proven to be so popular that Ryde School has added another option , now pupils choosing the IBCP can take professional courses in Marine Engineering , Finance , Sport & Outdoor Adventure and now also Art & Design . With this year ’ s A Level results of 68 % of entries at grade B or above , over a third at A * or A and a 97 % pass rate ; the International Baccalaureate ( IB ) results of a points average of 35 points ( the UCAS equivalent of A * AAA at A Level ) and 100 % of pupils achieving 5 or more GCSEs at A * to C , Ryde School pupils are celebrating their successes .
