Hand picked flowers
As the seasons change, we all crave the
comfort of warmer clothes, log fires –
and warmer, richer colours.
For Sherrie Peach, owner of the Mon
Cherie florist shop in Shanklin High
Street, it’s a time of year when she
and her florists Kylie and Michael can
really get creative with the reds, golds,
oranges and yellows of lovely seasonal
flowers like dahlias, sunflowers,
chrysanthemums, gerbera and thistles,
creating artistic one-off designs for
customers.
As Sherrie points out, this shows the
big difference between buying flowers
in a supermarket or a specialist florist
shop: the level of personal service,
advice and creative ideas on offer.
“If customers are looking for a special
gift or a flower display that’s just for
their home, we’re always here to offer
advice and ideas” she says.
“We really enjoy chatting to
customers and sharing our own love of
flowers with them”.

Stunning bride and bridesmaid posies for a recent wedding
goes back almost 40 years, to when
she started as a 15 year-old Saturday
girl at Tomlinson’s florist in Newport.
She worked in various shops during
her career, before setting up on her
own in 2007.
Since then, Mon Cherie has built
a trusted reputation not just for
gift flowers but also for important
family occasions such as weddings,
anniversaries and funerals - when
nothing can say it quite so beautifully
as flowers.
