Carnival time!

housands of people turned up for
Ryde’s Main Carnival procession
and Children’s Carnivals. Wending
their way through the town were brightly
decorated floats and happy participants.
Dating back to 1887, Ryde Carnival
is the oldest carnival in the United
Kingdom, the first one taking place
during the Golden Jubilee of Queen
Victoria, who became a lifelong patron.
Since that time it has thrilled millions of
people of all ages with its fantastic sights
and sounds, with this year’s procession
again proving to be a riot of colour and
excitement!
