Isle of Fright

T

he Isle of Wight is reputed
to be one of the UK’s
“spookiest” places and is often
known globally as the “Ghost
Island”. So around Hallowe’en
there will be several events
forming the ‘Isle of Fright’.

Ranging from ghost walks,
paranormal investigations,
interactive ‘horror’ encounters
to pumpkin carvings and scary
films. The spooky fun starts on

Ghost Runner

A

dark and scary woodland is the setting for
the 2015 Ghost Runner event, a 5km fun
run. Raising money for Challenge and Adventure,
it includes spooky music to set the scene and a
return of the much talked about ‘trick or treat’ fork
in the trail. This year the entry fee will also include
a supper after the race. The event takes place on
October 23 from 6pm, in Parkhurst Forest. Call

Blackgang Chine
Illuminations

A

fter years of darkness, the park re-awakens
with the magic of Blackgang’s illuminations.
On October 24 - 31, the park will be brightened
with the return of the light.

Hallowe’en Trail
T

here is something spooky for the kids at the
Needles Old Battery this October 31. Follow the
Hallowe’en trail and claim your treat, and along the
way, why not make a spooky hat!
Meet at the Battery at 11am, normal admission
charges apply.

Cowes Christmas Fair

T

he annual Cowes Christmas Fair will be taking
place on Saturday and Sunday, November 14 15 at Cowes Yacht Haven. With free entry and free
parking, it makes it easy to buy Christmas presents
for all the family.
Over sixty stalls are expected, filled with quality gifts
and crafts, with refreshments available. For more
