ADVERTISING FEATURE Being a Busy Bee at Christmas F or many a trip to Busy Bee Garden Centre at Brading Road Ryde, is an integral part of the build-up to Christmas. And visitors who venture into Busy Bee’s new home this year will surely be amazed by the stunning display that owner Chris and Mary Leslie and their team have put together for the festive season. Greeted on the outside by a six-metre high illuminated reindeer, once inside the Centre you will simply stop and marvel at the magical Christmas sights and sounds that took six weeks to put together. In the foyer you are greeted by a delightful snow princess with a Cinderella-type coach; and then as you venture further into the store you will be mesmerised by a magnificent nine-metre tall Christmas tree, with the spiral staircase wrapped around it, leading down to the Christmas World - a true work of art. There are more than 10,000 lights illuminating the tree, which provide a glittering and spectacular show as you walk down the staircase. Inside Busy Bee’s Christmas World you will find a series of themed rooms, where an incredible array of stock is on display. One room features wall decorations, including LED tapestries and pictures, and that is followed by a room of party and dressing-up clothing for all ages. There is also a room featuring a stunning collection of fibre optic trees and flowers, and that is complemented by a picturesque alpine model village, lit up, and even with its own waterfall. But perhaps the most striking section is the light department with more than 150 variety of lights, white and multi-coloured, for both outdoors and indoors. The new-look Busy Bee exhibition has retained some of its favourites, including the Polar Bear scene, which over the years has raised many thousands of pounds for Naomi House children’s hospice. There’s also the Talking Tree that tells stories to youngsters, and an animated Santa in a sleigh. Add to that the thousands of tree decorations which are available, and you will soon discover why visiting Busy Bee is an experience not to be missed for all ages in the build-up to this Christmas.
