Glittering Bestival
a record breaker!

I

t proved to be a real record-breaker as around 55,000
revellers descended on the Island for the legendary
Bestival 2014 extravaganza at Robin Hill Country Park.
The sun shone, the fancy dress costumes were
outrageous, and the headline acts were simply
breathtaking as Bestival curator Rob da Bank and his
team pulled off another sensational event, which is
ranked among the best festivals in the world.
Even a Guinness World Records judge was on hand to
confirm that the 10.3-metre wide disco glitter ball was
the biggest ever built, and will now go into the famous
publication as an official world record. The disco ball
was suspended from a crane and rotated shortly before
Sunday night headliners Nile Rodgers and Chic took to
the main stage.
