Fund-raising
dinner supports
Ventnor charities
A
sumptuous fund-raising dinner was enjoyed by 100 guests at
the Royal Yacht Squadron to support the charitable activities
of St Catherine’s and Ventnor Rotary.
At its residential special school in Ventnor, St Catherine’s works
with children and young people from across the UK with severe
speech, language and communication needs, while Ventnor Rotary
is supporting young carers on the Isle of Wight.
Sponsored by Barratt Homes, and supported by a wide range of
Island companies, the evening was hosted by Lord Brabazon and
raised £20,000 for the two charitable organisations. Nick Bonham,
former chairman of the world-renowned auction house Bonhams,
led a successful auction of donated lots including a tour of the
McLaren Formula One factory.
