The Olive Tree offers a
special treat for diners
The Olive Tree Restaurant, open
from 8.30am to 5.0pm, takes a
prominent position within the new
Busy Bee Garden Centre with far
reaching views across the Island’s
downs. Although the original name
has changed from The Honey Pot,
Mary Leslie the proprietress, has
ensured that the quality of the food
with oodles of freshly prepared
vegetables and locally sourced meats
will be the same if not improved.
The Olive Tree offers daily specials
and traditional old English styled
food along with the chef ’s daily
specials, and caters for special dietary
requests.
Mary had never intended to cater
for family lunches, saying: “We
expected just to offer snacks and
light bites, but now we cater for
small groups and functions requiring
full three course meals.”
The new restaurant is simply
superb, spacious and airy. It seats
some 200 people and with a large
balcony looking out across the
downs, with the most amazing views.
The Olive Tree now employs a
full time patissier, who can be seen
making a selection of real homemade
cakes, pasties and scones which you
may find a tempting alternative
to the popular full ‘Gardener’s
breakfast’.
Lunch is served from midday; and
then from 3.0pm why not try an
afternoon tea, served on the balcony,
with finger sandwiches and scones
with jam and clotted cream? Or if
you dare substitute the tea for small
individual bottles of champagne
