Watch out for those
ghostly goings-on!
Halloween is fast approaching,
and there will be enthusiasts
aplenty on the Island looking out
for ghostly sightings.
Ghost Walk specialist Marc
Tuckey will be at Arreton Barns
on October 25, 26 and 27 for
‘The Curse of Capt. Black’
at 7.0pm and 9.0pm. Then on
October 28, 29, 30 and 31, he will
be conducting Ghost Walks at
Northwood House, also at 7.0pm
and 9.0pm.
After the final Northwood
walk on Halloween night, Marc
will be heading to the Ventnor
Botanic Gardens for an authentic
Night Investigation of the site,
beginning at midnigh t. The
following day, November 1, a
Ghost Walk will take place at the
Botanic Gardens, to include the
tunnel in the garden.
Ghostly bus tours will start
from the Newport Bus Station
on October 28, 29, 30 and 31 at
8.0pm. Ghost hunters can choose
one of two routes – either to
the Knighton Gorges area or

through Shanklin Old Village
and Ventnor.

Xmas trees to light up Brighstone
Plans are well underway for the 17th
Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival.
The event has raised nearly £70,000
for charities to date, and there will be
over 130 ‘theme decorated’ trees, on
show at St Mary's Church, Brighstone,
The Methodist Church, Wilberforce Hall,
The Reading Room, The Three Bishops
Public House, and in Mottistone Church.
Entry is free with donations received
going to charity. Viewing is December 5
to 8 from 10.0am to 6.0pm., but Sunday
viewing will take place after services in
Brighstone Church and the Methodist
Church.
