SOCIAL SCENE Masons raise money for Trust The Island Masons got together to raise money for the Royal Masonic Trust For Girls and Boys. The charity’s mission is to relieve poverty and advance the education of children in need. It is one of the oldest Masonic charities having been in existence for some 250 years and currently looks after some 2000 children with extra 46 www.visitislandlife.com grant to other children’s charities. The Masters of the lodges organised a charity evening at the Cowes Yacht Haven, with entertainment supplied by the Shanklin Town Brass Band and members of the Royal Opera House. The evening raised nearly £5,000 towards their charity.
