BUSINESS
and entertainment deals have
boosted traffic from the Island to the
mainland.
With two of the major UK festivals
held on the Island, a strategic
approach to providing the best
possible transport solution for festival
customers has been in place for the
last two years. Using a temporary
electronic signed queue process kept
waiting time for the festival visitors
down to an average of 20 minutes and
with professional entertainment at the
terminals, customer satisfaction has
reached an all-time high.
Looking after Hovertravel's regular
travellers and commuters, when the
volume of visitors to the Island peaks
is the other essential requirement.
Priority boarding is a facility which
is available constantly at Hovertravel,
but over the Festival and Bestival
weekends it assures Hovercraft’s
regular customers that their service is
still available for them.
Neil Chapman added: "Our customer
mix at Hovertravel covers a huge range
encompassing the occasional to the
frequent, the tourist to the business
person and UK to international
visitors. By evolving our operation to
adapt to these customer needs, like the
hourly winter timetable which covers
off-peak, middle of the day services,
we have been able to grow our market
share, achieving the highest figure in
the company's 47 year history."
Another advantage when arriving at
Southsea is that the Hoverbus picks
up passengers at the terminal to take
them to The Hard/Gunwharf Quays,
Portsmouth Commercial Stand C
and Portsmouth & Southsea Station.
Check the Hovertravel website for
timetable changes from November 1 to
March 31.
