Tony Dalton was inspired by the
cinema. Many an archaeologist
has been inspired by the work
of Sir Barry Cunliffe. Singing
star Earl Carpenter wants to
inspire Islanders with his West
End roles. And the town of
Ryde is on the receiving end of
some truly divine inspiration.
We see a great deal of sporting
achievement on the Island, be it
amateur or professional. Martine
Harbour achieves equestrian
success while the powerboat
festival makes its own splash.
Then there is cricket for fun, as
well as funds, and speed success
with Mike Horne’s steam cars.
We even find our resident estate
agent feeling pretty chipper
about the property market, and
discover that our restaurants
are out to beat the recession
by using huge quantities of
imagination. As well as the Island’s
fantastic produce, of course.
