Bluebells at Briddlesford
Work is due to start any day
at Briddlesford Lodge Farm to
convert the redundant barn
opposite the farm shop into a
café and education room.
Paul Griffin and his wife Chris,
who will be managing this
new aspect of the business,
are committed to providing an
ambient welcoming space where
people can relax and enjoy fresh
local produce in close proximity
to the daily activities of a
working dairy farm.
The Griffin family are already
connecting daily with the public
in talking about farming, local
produce and the provenance of
food, this will continue to be an
integral part of the ethos of the
café.
Another important aspect of the
project, particularly since the
closure of Branstone Farm, is to
educate people about farming,
especially school children and
pre-school groups. They will,
while visiting the farm, not only
see a real working farm in action
but have the opportunity to use
a well-equipped room complete
with interactive whiteboard,
high speed internet, resources
and farming artefacts to further

develop their learning.
Farm produced items will be
the key to the uniqueness of
the café. Where else can you
have a delicious latte, smooth
and creamy
milkshake
or indulgent
cream tea,
made with
milk and
cream fresh
from a
Guernsey cow
that morning,
only 50 metres
away!
