Gurnard Boys Take on the World By Lizzie Ward Jules and Guy Salter were born and raised on the Island and went to Love Lane Primary School where their mother, Marion, was also a teacher. Together they will be taking on the world as they race onboard Ericsson 3 in the Volvo Ocean Race. Jules has the highly responsible job of navigator onboard the state of the art Volvo Open 70 yacht, while Guy will be the media crew member - probably the most important crewmember of all as he is the embedded reporter who will be filming all the action onboard and transmitting it back to the race headquarters near Portsmouth. They will sail under Brazilian skipper Torben Grael, himself a five-time Olympic medallist and an extremely competitive man, with a crew of 11 in total. "It's great sailing with Jules. I enjoy sailing with him, but I also enjoy competing against him, especially if I'm in the team which wins, says Guy."
