Medieval madness at
Haseley Manor
IT was a battle with the
weather but the medieval
banquet at Haseley Manor
was a great success. The event,
in aid of the Barely Born
Foundation, was organised by
Donna and Andrew Taylor,
whose daughter, now aged

40

eight, had been born nine
weeks early.
“I’ve been meaning for ages
to do something as a thankyou
for the care she was given,”
said Donna. “And I’d never
been to a medieval evening.”
Of course she hadn’t

reckoned for the weather. “It
was touch and go whether the
hog roast was going to cook
– the fire was spattering in
the rain!” said Donna. She
was particularly impressed
that Matt Splat the fire-eater
managed to keep his flame
