Nemo proves size isn’t everything – but capacity is
The fact the demonstrator
has ‘The Smallest Biggest
Van’ inscribed all over it does
not prepare you for the huge
space when you fling back
the double doors. Inside, the
Citroen Nemo is enormous.
This isn’t a vehicle that
pretends in any way to be
anything other than a very
practical means of moving
huge and heavy quantities
of stuff from a to b. Its
suspension is positively raring
to bear the 610g weight
which is its payload capacity,
meaning driving the van
empty is a somewhat bouncy
experience. But you won’t be
buying this if your intention
is to drive it empty.
Size, as they say, isn’t
everything. The driver may
as well be comfortable when
he’s transporting his heavy
loads and Citroen have
provided a very user-friendly
radio, directional air and cup
holders. A built-in pop-up
clip-board for your call-list
is a pleasing touch, while
an extra shelf is created
by an indent on top of the
dashboard – preventing your
order book from sliding
around when you’re
