Isle of Wight Radio's
Local Heroes!
IOW Radio held the first annual People's
People awards at Cowes Yacht Haven,
honouring some of the island's dedicated,
caring and brave individuals, those
people who don't think twice about going
out of their way for others, as well as
others who have demonstrated amazing
acts of bravery and compassion. IOW
Radio teamed up with Mountjoy to ask
the listeners to nominate their 'hero' and
give them the recognition they deserve.
There were 10 awards in all with the
overall 'People's Person' going to a truly
remarkable young man who deservedly
received a standing ovation - Asa Singleton.
