TRAVEL FOREWORD ISLAND LIFE - PREVIEW Geoffrey Hughes with the winners of the auction. Authentic country show Despite some disappointingly unseasonal weather on the Saturday, this year’s show at Wolverton Manor proved a huge success. Wolverton has all the appeal of a truly local country show, with non-stop entertainment for children that included pony rides, canoe rides, a bouncy castle and traditional games. For the adults, there was plenty of interest in the craft and local produce areas, with live demonstrations of traditional skills, and food and drink sampling. TV actor Geoffrey Hughes kindly carried out the auction for a garden bench which raised £750 for the Wessex Cancer Appeal. Phil Legge and Martin demonstrating ploughing with a pair of Shires . The Canoe Lake proved very popular with both adults and children. 10 Irish folk band - Last Orders Island Life - www.isleofwight.net
