Nowadays replacing missing teeth
with implants is a fairly easy procedure,
but it can be quite expensive.
This example looks at a recent case where a patient
fell and cracked her teeth losing several of them 1 .
She already had an old metal framed denture
but its design meant we could not add on any
teeth 2 .
A new metal frame was made which sits unseen
in the palate replacing three teeth at the upper
right and four teeth on the upper left. This new
design allows us to add on any other teeth that
might be lost in the years ahead, and leaves the
palate uncovered 3 .
The finished photograph shows the outcome, and
an implant case which would have cost £24,000
was completed using the metal frame technology
for £1,200 including a crown on upper right 2 (see
pics 1+4).
