Organ recitals at Quarr Abbey

This August Quarr Abbey are hosting five organ recitals . Starting on Saturday 18th August , 3pm is a recital by Sandrine Vezzetti , soprano and Philippe Bataille , organist , who will be performing a selection from Bach , Handel , Franck and more . Sunday 19th August will see Dom Michel Baumel perform a solemn mass with Gregorian chant and organ from 10am and at 12noon alto Kirsten Barker will be singing a vocal recital . At 6pm organist Dom Michel Baumel will be back to play Buxtehude and Bach . On Monday 20th August Peter Spencer , organist , will be performing pieces by Bach , Howells , Langlais and more . Cinema in the garden !

On the 19th August , from 7pm , Ventnor Botanic Garden presents an outdoor cinema event featuring ‘ The Greatest Showman ’. Experience the magic of the film and enjoy entry to the garden and all its facilities . Screened at dusk on the top lawn enjoy all the traditional treats of a cinema event with ice creams and popcorn , and some not so traditional ones including cocktails , mocktails and a barbeque with hotdogs and burgers including vegan and vegetarian options . Three concerts from Project : Opera

This July Project : Opera proudly presents three concerts as part of UK Pride ’ s fringe . These are Casanova ’ s Ball at Freshwater , Baroque at Barton Manor and Viva Verdi at Newport . It starts with Casanova ’ s Ball on Sunday 15th July at Freshwater Memorial Hall , a concert of popular arias and ensembles from Don Giovanni , The Marriage of Figaro , Die Fliedermaus and more .
