So good that
they’re bottling it!
A multi award-winning Isle of Wight ale is being
made available in 500ml bottles for the first time this
year, in tribute to the 35 year anniversary of the Earl
Mountbatten Hospice charity that it supports.
The popular Earl’s RDA (Rich Dark Ale) was named Earl after
the EMH sunflower emblem, with 10p from every pint sold
being donated to the Hospice.
Previously only available in nine-gallon casks, the ale can
now be enjoyed by a wider public, following the decision by
local brewer Island Ales to offer it by the bottle.
Earl’s RDA has proved its quality and class by winning the
Isle of Wight Camra’s Beer of the Year accolade for the past
three years.
It was also the Silver award winner in the S.I.B.A (Society of
Independent Brewers) S.E Region in 2014.
Brewed only with the classic traditional four basic
ingredients of malt, hops, yeast and water, Earl’s RDA is made
with Crystal and Chocolate malts along with roasted barley,
which makes for a superb-tasting complex ale with flavours
of chocolate and coffee leading to a classic espresso finish.
