FOOD
'Click and collect'
Hamilton’s Fine Foods will shortly be
opening a new outlet at their depot, 1
Daish Way, Newport, where customers
will be able to ‘click and collect’ an
extensive range of quality foods.
Hamilton's are a family-run
wholesale and retail butchers who
for many years have served the local
community, and now they have
decided to make it even simpler to
buy their produce.
Andy Gustar of Hamilton’s explained:
“We will be having a new website
where customers can view all our
products, with prices. Then they can
either order on line or by telephone,
and can come along to the shop to pick
up their order.”
Hamilton’s are renowned for their
top quality beef, lamb and pork,
traditional cooked meats, hand-made
sausages, selected game, in-house
bakery and traditional cheeses. They
are also planning to relocate their
Scarrots Lane shop, to Pyle Street,
Newport later in the year.

Seafood evening at the Seaview
A five-course seafood evening,
costing £65 per person, is being held
at the Seaview Hotel on Thursday,
June 19, from 7.30pm.
Since moving to the Island, Bruce
Theobald, head chef at the Seaview
Hotel, has been amazed by the
superb quality and variety of fish
and shellfish available. He said: “It’s
a chef ’s dream to have fish so fresh
they literally swim into the kitchen!
“Seaview is a very special place; it
was founded by maritime pilots and
there’s still a strong community of
fisherman. I know who catch es my
sea bream and even the name of the
boat. Ideally I would like to develop
the seafood offering at the hotel and
I hope in time that we are recognised
as one of the leading fish restaurants
on the Island.”
Bruce likes to keep things simple;
his style of cooking relies on skilful
preparation, quality seasonal
