More than 280 GPs, practice nurses and
staff from primary health care across the
Island, together with staff from the Isle of
Wight Clinical Commissioning, gathered
at Cowes Yacht Haven for the Isle of
Wight Clinical Commissioning Group
(CCG) Awards 2014.
The awards are designed to recognise
excellence in the provision of primary
health care on the Island and the
commissioning of services by the CCG,
through a mixture of awards assessed
by a panel and those voted for on the
evening. The categories and winners in
each were as follows:
GP of the Year - Dr Mira Hueppe, St
Helen’s. Practice Nurse - Ann Pittman,
East Cowes. Team of the Year - Shanklin
GPs, Nurses, reception and admin
staff. Leadership Award - Dr Simon
Giles, Shanklin. Practice of the Year
- Carisbrooke Surgery. Exceptional

working Collaboration Group.
Commissioner of the Year - Linda Rann,
Head of Acute Commissioning , IoW
CCG. Practice Employee of the Year Gitta Jenvey, Assistant Practice Manager,
St Helen’s. CCG Employee of the Year
- Shaun Sweatman, Senior Finance
Manager, IoW CCG. Practice Manager of
the Year - Sarah Dugdale, Argyll House,
Ryde. Special Recognition - Dr Tina
Freytag, Cowes. Special Recognition Loretta Outhwaite, Chief Finance Officer,
IoW CCG. Special Recognition - Dr John
Partridge, Clinical Director, IoW CCG.
CCG Chair, Dr John Rivers said: “This
was a fantastic way to celebrate the CCG’s
first anniversary. As the body responsible
for the overall improvement of healthcare
on the Island it is important that we
recognise the devotion and high quality
of care being delivered by those who
work in general practice surgeries, both
individuals and teams, as well as those
who work hard to commission the best
possible healthcare services for Islanders.”
