Endurance GB is the main governing body
of Endurance riding in England and supports
on average 70 competitive rides across the UK
throughout the season along with a number of
group rides within each of the 23 groups from
March to September. The aim of Endurance GB is to
promote and enhance the sport of Endurance riding
within the UK, by providing competition, training
and development opportunities that will appeal
to all levels of rider from beginner to world class
winners.
The ride was supported by two sponsors Obertam
Equestrian and Funky Feet Beads who both donated
prizes.
Within the aims of Endurance riding there is a
National Riding Club Championship event and the
Island’s Vectis Equestrian Club entered two teams
in the 32km ride for this event with the hope to
sending a team to the Championship in October. All
seven riders completed with five grade 1s and two
grade 2s a fantastic result for the Island riders.
Island rider Caroline Cooper gained a grade 1 on
Perowne Cha Cha and also took home the prize for
the best overall speed and heart rate in that category.
Island riders who took part or those wishing
to have a taste of Endurance riding, the Vectis
Equestrian Club are holding a series of rides
throughout the year and are based on the same
principal as EGB. Visit web pages for details:
