yacht race is imminent. So for this latest edition of
your FREE Island Life, I went behind the scenes at the
Island Sailing Club to talk to Commodore John Dudley
about how the annual spectacle, the fourth highest in
participation numbers of any sporting fixture in the
country, all comes together on the day.
I also talked to Seaview’s Mike Thompson about his
‘horsepower’ life, not just under the bonnet of the
racing cars he designed, but also on his four-legged
friend!
David Firmstone from St Lawrence reveals how a
serous illness as a youngster helped fashion his career
as a world-renowned water-colour artist, and we
spotlight Shanklin OId Village, one
of the most picturesque spots on
the Island.
