Cowes Week
auction in its
eighth year
Eight years ago Island Auction Rooms wanted to create
a specialist auction which would capture the interest and
passion involved during Cowes week. After some fact
finding and meetings a first class venue, Cowes Masonic
Lodge in Castle Road, Cowes, was booked and they
embarked on the task of getting the caliber of goods such
a venue and clientele would demand. Traditionally with a
Maritime slant, but this soon grew to cover all aspects of
Fine Art, Silver, Jewellery, Collectables and much more.
Auctioneers Warren Riches and Tim Smith have uncovered
some gems over time, from a £30,000 gold coin collection
to a £240,000 Daniel Quare clock. Warren says " there
really is something for everyone in this top end auction,
the idea that you place some of the finest Antiques under
the noses of the wealthy yachting set has worked well".
