Walk the Wight

Walk the Wight celebrated its 21st
year on Sunday May 15 with nearly
11,000 walkers covering up to 26.5
miles to raise money for patient care
at the Island’s Earl Mountbatten
Hospice.
Walk the Wight is the biggest
fund-raising event in the Hospice’s
always packed calendar and has raised

over £2.5 million as it has grown
over the years. There was a wonderful
carnival atmosphere as the walkers,
some in eye-catching fancy dress,
racked up the miles and made their
way to the finish line to collect their
well-earned medals.
The event is a truly inspirational
celebration of all the good work of
the Hospice and is testament to how
much the Hospice means to the Island
community.
