The countdown is underway for the Island Life Flappers Ball on Saturday, September 3 at IW Steam Railway, which promises to be one of the most prestigious events to be held in a splendid marquee on the Island this year. Arrive in style... The Isle of Wight Steam Railway will be kindly providing a steam train from the 1920s to transport revellers to the event. There will be two pick-up points for anyone wishing to travel in style. The train will be pulling out of Havenstreet Station at 6.0pm, and will then move on to Wootton, arriving at 6.15pm to pick up more 14 www.visitislandlife.com passengers. It will then return to Havenstreet Station via Smallbrook, arriving at approximately 7.0pm. The nostalgic journey will cost commuters just £6 per person to include a complimentary glass of bubbly. The Ball is still a few months away, but there is no time to waste as tickets are being snapped up very quickly. Tickets are priced at £65, to include a sumptuous three-course meal prepared and served by David Rogers, from All About Catering. The ticket price includes a £5 donation to the IW Steam Railway charity. The music will be provided by the renowned Casablanca Steps (YouTube them, they're amazing), and Tony Martin Music Show. Whether posing motionless to surprise guests, or interacting, Calvero (Charlie Chaplin) is sure to help make the event a huge success.
