FLAPPERS BALL
This year's ball that simply can't be missed...
The countdown is underway for the
Island Life Flappers Ball on Saturday,
September 3 at IW Steam Railway,
which promises to be one of the most
prestigious events to be held in a
splendid marquee on the Island this
year.
Arrive in style...
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway
will be kindly providing a steam train
from the 1920s to transport revellers
to the event.
There will be two pick-up points
for anyone wishing to travel in
style. The train will be pulling out
of Havenstreet Station at 6.0pm,
and will then move on to Wootton,
arriving at 6.15pm to pick up more
14

passengers. It will then return to
Havenstreet Station via Smallbrook,
arriving at approximately 7.0pm.
The nostalgic journey will cost
commuters just £6 per person to
include a complimentary glass of
bubbly.
The Ball is still a few months
away, but there is no time to waste
as tickets are being snapped up very
quickly. Tickets are priced at £65,
to include a sumptuous three-course
meal prepared and served by David
Rogers, from All About Catering.
The ticket price includes a £5
donation to the IW Steam Railway
charity.
The music will be provided by the
renowned Casablanca Steps (YouTube
them, they're amazing), and Tony
Martin Music Show.
Whether posing motionless to
surprise guests, or interacting,
Calvero (Charlie Chaplin) is sure to
help make the event a huge success.
The Island Life Flappers Ball is the
one event that you simply have to be
seen at – and you will also be helping
a worthy Island charity.
So don’t delay. Gentlemen, now is
the time to start shining your shoes
and ladies, look out your feather boa
and choose your Charleston flapper
dress.
