FASHION HEALTH & BEAUTY Hearing Centre provides many useful benefits The Isle of Wight Hearing Centre, at 4 Cross Street, Ryde, provides several useful benefits for those who wish to take advantage of the facilities. The Hearing Centre, which has been in Ryde for nearly eight years, provides free hearing tests and a free trial of the latest digital hearing aids; prices are very competitive and there is a free lifetime after-service. But as Bryan Tiller, hearing aid audiologist at the Centre explains: “Perhaps the biggest advantage is the fact that we provide free home visits anywhere on the Island for those who cannot get to us. There are occasions when maybe someone is elderly or infirmed, and may find it difficult to travel to Ryde, particularly if they live in an isolated village with limited transport. “It is something we have always done because we are aware that many people who feel they may need a digital hearing aid are not able to visit for an appointment.” Bryan continued: “Hearing aids have come a long way, especially over the last couple of years. We can now fit the smallest hearing aid completely in The Isle of Wight Hearing Centre 4 Cross Street, Ryde TEL: 0800 542 2122 www.iowhearingcentre.co.uk 118 www.visitislandlife.com the canal of the ear, making it almost invisible. We provide a full service, beginning with a free test, and if anyone does have a hearing loss we will explain everything to them in plain English, using a computer so they can see it in graphic format. “We can help them choose from the latest digital hearing aids, and they can use it in the comfort of their own home for one to two weeks to check they get the benefits they would be hoping for. There is no deposit, therefore no pressure, and if they don’t want it at the end of the trial they can give it back. All hearing aids are custom made, and are usually ready for trial within a week.”
