organisations to engage in the programme going forward.
Superintendent Norman Mellors commented: “I believe
there are considerable social and economic benefits to be
gained from quality interventions with identified young
people. Creative partnership programmes such as this are
effective in providing outcomes that reduce risk within the
community. They assist individual young people to exploit
their potential whilst confronting negative inter-generational
patterns that often pose significant challenges within our
community.”
The project will not only benefit individual young people,
but also forms the basis of key training for Vestas’ employees,
by focusing on enhancement of management and leadership
skills through coaching.
Rob Sauven, Managing Director of Vestas Technology
UK, commented: “This programme provides a unique
and powerful approach to management training, and
we are inspired to now explore how to take the concept
company-wide. We are also very pleased to have such
powerful local partners to help us deliver on our Corporate
Social Responsibility strategy within the island community.”
The programme will continue to look for funding to aid
with the running of next year’s activities, as well as actively
seeking new companies to come on board as partners. We
will be exploring the benefit to Vestas as well as following
the progress of the young people involved in future issues of
Island Life.

We are delighted to be leading the partnership with other

is that by extending this unique project UKSA can act as a
