Fund raising goes well
at Osborne Golf Club
£1500 was added to the RNLI Appeal for
the new Tamar Lifeboat and new station at
Bembridge as a result of the Supper Dance
on the 15th May. The star prize in the draw
for a boat trip for four in Dunlin with David
Kennett MBE, former cox of the Yarmouth
Lifeboat was won by Valerie Graves of
Freshwater.
The Appeal for the first million to be
raised on the Island was launched in

July 2008 and by May 2009 in excess of
£230,000 had been raised. Throughout
the next 18 months there will be a series
of fundraising events with a specially
commissioned Beken Maritime Exhibition
& sale at the Yacht Haven, Cowes on the 17
& 18 July. Tickets for the exclusive launch
