The event is really creating
its own identity, with a
combination of strong
features. It’s a multi-layered
experience according to Ziggy.
“Rob da Bank has got access
to really strong heritage acts as
well as leading-edge musicians,
so there is appeal across the
board in terms of music. Then
you’ve got his partner, Josie,
designing the site to creative
perfection. We all work hard
to manage the other aspects
of the Bestival experience
– for instance the food and
concessions are hand-picked
by the team. We’ve all got
a real passion for what we
do, and creating something
truly unique takes year-round
commitment,” she said.
Bestival has built up a great
family-friendly reputation.
Ziggy is clear that this was a
conscious decision from the
outset. “From the start we’ve
wanted to make the festival
family friendly, so we’ve
introduced initiatives like the
Breastival Baby Temple. We
are really hoping to take the
Bestival crowd with us as we
grow – the Bestival team are
building their own families,”
said Ziggy, who is soon to be a
mother for the first time. “We
hope that as the Bestival crowd
embrace family life that we will
continue to offer something to
them.”
You can tell that Ziggy is
already itching to get on the
ferry; infact, such is their
enthusiasm for the island that
Ziggy reckons it might not be
long before Rob & Josie and
Ziggy & John think about a
permanent settlement.
