FOREWORD Still Moments For their 2008 summer exhibition, Quay Arts presents Still Moments, by Island Artist Eric Geddes. Spread over three galleries, this extraordinary exhibition brings together an unprecedented range of work by Eric Geddes, marking the 30 years of his career. Revealing the breadth and direction of Geddes’s most recent work, the works are given meaningful context by photographic archive material, video, documentary and journals from the artist's career. By charting significant and developing themes, the exhibition provides an opportunity to reassess the range of Geddes’s achievements and the scale and complexity of his work. Geddes is a British sculptor, photographer and film maker living on the Isle of Wight. He is inspired by and works predominantly on the island’s shorelines. His site specific work involves the use of natural and found objects, either indigenous [stone, clay, seaweed] or flotsam [wood, metal, plastic]. Please Join us to celebrate the 10 opening of Still Moments on Saturday 21 June, 3pm in the Michael West Gallery at Quay Arts. Wine and nibbles served till 5pm. A documentary interview with Eric, directed by David George, will be screened at 3.30 in the Anthony Minghella Theatre. You will be able to meet Eric and ask questions at his Artist talk on Thursday 3rd July, at Quay Arts, 6pm. Still Moments runs from 16th Jun - 9th Aug, Michael West Gallery, Quay Arts. www.wightfrog.com/islandlife
