and soak them in well so there’s
some fresh salad you can start
snipping within a few weeks of
your return. You can do the same
with leafy annual herbs such as
chervil and coriander.
O Cut all the dead heads, open
flowers and all but the very
tightest buds from pelargoniums,
fuchsias and bedding plants,
especially those in containers, and
do the same with roses including
patio roses growing in tubs – that
way you’ll come home to a fresh
crop of newly-opened flowers and
not a sea of seed-heads and dead
flowers.
