Boxing Day
Hunt
Boxing Day saw a meet at Carisbrooke Castle which
attracted over 400 spectators, and approx. 50
mounted. The Boxing Day hunt is a very special day
in the hunt calendar, and is normally very well
attended. Because traditional fox hunting is illegal
the hunt has now turned to Trail Hunting, this is
where a false scent is laid ahead of the huntsman,
which makes it much faster for both riders and
horses alike. Huntsman Stuart Trousdale
commented, “it was a great day out for all”.
