Food events at Keats
IW Grand National & Ashey Scurry
The Isle of Wight Grand National and Ashey Scurry this year is on Sunday 25th March . The first race is at 12noon and the course is at West Ashey Farm – the site of the old racecourse from the early 20th century . Children under 14 have free entry and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway run special trains to and from Ashey Station to the races – so why not arrive in style by steam train ?
Antiques Fair for charity
The Isle of Wight branch of the Motor Neurone Disease ( MND ) Association is proud to announce their annual ‘ Mum ’ s Memory Day ’ event to be held on Sunday 11th March 2018 at Northwood House , Cowes . The Antiques Fair will be open 10.30am- 3pm , selling a wide variety of goods including quality furniture , books , jewellery , silver , vintage items , garden antiques , militaria , china , glass and much more . Free valuations will kindly be provided by local valuer Tim Smith . Valuations between 11.30am and 1pm only . Admission to the fair is £ 2 per adult with accompanied children free ( all entrance fees are donated to the IOW branch of MND . Refreshments will be available to buy . There are a number of races for ponies and less experienced riders to the spectacle of the Biles & Co Grand National where horses and riders take on the biggest fences on the longest course . Sam Biles , of main sponsors Biles & Co , said : “ Why not come and enjoy a great countryside day out . It is not just the racing and steam trains , but superb refreshments and a beer tent making it a fun day out for all the family .”
