Competition success
Five years of hard work later , and Gemma and Mars are working at Intermediate 11 / Grand Prix level and competing at Intermediate 11 . She describes him as an exciting and fun horse to ride , with great energy , power and enthusiasm for his work . And the pair ’ s successes speak for themselves , with wins at a whole series of major competitions – notably 1st Prix St George Freestyle to music Champion in the Somerford Park Premier League 2016 . They ’ ve also had wins in the Wellington Riding Premier League , the NAF Winter
Petplan Championships at Hartpury and the Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre Small tour Championships . At Hartpury International , Gemma was selected to represent Great Britain for the first time as a senior rider at small tour , and with 38 in the class , she finished a respectable 12th in the Prix St George on the first day . On day two , she and Mars finished 10th , which took them through to the music on day three , in which they managed to finish 3rd . There have also been successes away from home turf , including Le Mans International in France , where Gemma was one of only seven riders selected to represent Great Britain at small tour . She recalls that with 37 in the class , she made a costly mistake in the Prix St George on the first day and finished 25th – but then redeemed herself on
