A night to remember!
Tartan was the dress
code for a Burns Night
to remember at Ventnor
Winter Gardens.
Organised by Anthony Churchill,
and attended by Lady Grylls, over 50
guests were welcomed by piper in
full highland dress. The haggis was
addressed and ceremonially stabbed
by Jamie Macaulay; Ventnor’s mayor
Jason Mack gave the Immortal
Memory; David White gave the ‘Toast
to the Lassies’ and the ‘Reply From the
Lassies’ was given by Karen Taggart.
Hugh Verey entertained on
keyboards, including a sung rendition
of ‘My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose’.
Simon Davies on piano accompanied
Ann Miller on Flute playing Danny
Boy, and Ted Chance playing Celtic
airs on Harmonica.
